#PresentForPounds and raise money for the NHS

Posted on Categories CoachesTags , ,

British Gymnastics wants to recognise the incredible sacrifices that the National Health Service and frontline staff continue to make every day.

We have been inspired and humbled by their bravery, as well as the huge fundraising efforts of so many up and down the country, and we want to do our bit to support such a great cause.

We are delighted to launch our new fundraising initiative #PresentForPounds.

Every gymnast – whatever age, discipline or level – from their early years to being crowned Olympic champion, knows how to present. It shows that they are ready for action!

Whether it’s presenting to friends and family, a coach, the judges or a roaring crowd, to present is part of what makes being a gymnast so special.

We’re calling on the whole of our gymnastics community and beyond to #PresentForPounds to share your love of gymnastics and pride for our NHS and key worker heroes by raising money for NHS Charities Together.

Here’s how you can #PresentForPounds;

1. Post a video or photo of you ‘presenting’ online using #PresentForPounds. This could be something new and creative at home or something from a past competition, training session or class.

2. Donate whatever you can, big or small, through our JustGiving page.

3. Nominate five friends to do the same.

We are issuing a challenge to all of our members and everyone who loves our sport to support our fundraising campaign.

Jane Allen MBE, British Gymnastics Chief Executive Officer said: “The efforts of our NHS have really brought the country and the gymnastics community together during this difficult time. We have seen some great fundraising initiatives from people involved in our sport already and we hope that through our new ‘Present For Pounds’ initiative we can build on this great work. We hope to raise even more money for our NHS, so they can continue to look after those most in need of care.”

British Gymnastics will match up to a maximum of £50,000 in donations. That will include recognising the amazing fundraising efforts of the GBR Trampoline and Aerobic teams for NHS Charities Together.

We will be matching the totals raised by both the trampoline and aerobic teams as listed on their campaign pages at 9am on Friday 15th May, and this total will then be added to #PresentForPounds when we make our final matched donation.

To donate, visit our JustGiving page.
