Kat Driscoll kick-started her 2020 campaign with a strong performance in Baku, finishing in 5th place at the Trampoline World Cup.
Competing alongside many of the best individual trampoline gymnasts from around the world, Kat qualified in eighth place, scoring 103.850. Then in the final, Kat produced another superb performance and finished on 54.365, just 0.220 marks off a medal. The result means she receives 38 points towards Olympic qualification.
GB teammate, Bryony Page finished just shy of the qualifying places, scoring 102.565 to finish in 16th place, picking up 15 points in the process. Fellow Brits, Laura Gallagher and Izzy Songhurst finished in 42nd and 51st respectably.
Andrew Stamp gained more valuable experience in the men’s event. Competing in just his second World Cup, the 19 year-old scored 106.540 in qualifying to finish in 30th place.
Baku is the fifth of six events that make up the World Cup series. The last opportunity for Olympic qualification points will come at the final event in Italy on 24th April.
