We are giving young British Gymnastics members the opportunity to gain a sports accredited leadership award through online learning, to help prepare for a return to education environments.
We have teamed up with Sports Leaders UK, an organisation that awards sports leadership qualifications, to give 1,000 of our members the chance to participate in their ‘I Can, I Am’ resilience programme for free.
The ‘I Can, I Am’ programme provides learners aged 14-18 with a series of challenges designed to test and build their resilience, preparing them for a return to education environments following the impact of lockdown and the coronavirus.
The challenges focus on five key skills and are designed to help young people for the future when they enter working environments.
After completing the challenges, members will then be asked to complete a ‘Community Builder Profile’, a short reflection piece on what they have learnt throughout the programme. They will also be asked to pledge a positive action they will carry out within their community. Those who finish the programme will be awarded with an accredited certificate from Sports Leaders UK.
This programme is open to all British Gymnastics members aged 14-18.
Any members who are part of a British Gymnastics Leadership Academy can also use the programme to progress through some of their ‘My Learning’ modules.
