We are proud to announce that 2900 coaches have now enrolled onto our new eLearning course on the topic of ‘Positive Coaching’.

We believe in the importance of safe participation for everyone in gymnastics. The topic of positive coaching features throughout our coach education, but we felt it important to supplement this by providing more professional development for our community and are thrilled that our community share our belief in the importance of this subject.

Scott Hann MBE, Director of Coaching at South Essex Gymnastics Club and personal coach to the most successful British male artistic gymnast in history, Max Whitlock MBE, recently completed the course:

“The British gymnastics Positive Coaching e-learning course was exactly what our coaching fraternity needed. With such an amazing body of passionate coaches affiliated to British Gymnastics there will be times when things don’t go to plan or become stressful as we deliver our sessions. What’s important is that as coaches and mentors we are aware of the impact we have on our athletes when delivering our sessions, and this course helps us raise awareness and encourages us to reflect to be the best coaches and people we can be.

The expert coach will use these methods not just to be aware of the impact, but to enhance their message to get even more from the athletes. Inspiration is key “Don’t change your passion, just be aware of the impact you can have, both positively and negatively”.

The course is free for all our members who hold a Level 2 or above coaching qualification and is compulsory, but only needs to be completed once. Those who renew their membership in September 2019, will have from now until September 2020 to complete the course. For those who are due to renew in January 2020 or beyond, the course will need to be completed prior to renewal.

The course aims to raise awareness on how different belief systems impact coaching behaviours and the coach-participant relationship. It provides relevant examples, opportunities to reflect, and strategies that coaches can apply directly to their coaching.

All Level 2 and above coaches can now enrol. Once enrolled, an email will be sent with further instructions on how to access and complete the course in our Academy.

Enrol NOW.
